"It would be rolled out from Chennai to cover 12 Buddhist circuit centres.It will be fully air-conditioned and will have first-class, second-class and three-tier compartments.The Mahaparinirvan Express would cover Gaya in Bihar, where Buddha attained enlightenment, Varanasi, Agra, Gonda and Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, Aurangabad in Maharashtra, Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, Buhubaneswar in Orissa and Lumbini in Nepal, where Buddha was born.

Day 01: Wednesday - Delhi Safdarjang Station
Departure Delhi (Delhi Safdarjang Station in the afternoon) for Gaya.
Day 02: Thursday - Bodhgaya
Arrive Gaya in the morning. Visit Bodhgaya. Over night stay at the hotel
Day 03: Friday - Rajgir & Nalanda
Depart for Rajgir & Nalanda. Depart Gaya for Varanasi in the evening.
Day 04: Saturday - Sarnath
Arrive Varanasi in the morning. Visit Sarnath. Visit the Ganges for the evening Aarti. Depart Varanasi for Gorakhpur in the evening.
Day 05: Sunday - Lumbini
Arrive Gorakhpur in the morning. Visit Lumbini. Return to Gorakhpur. Overnight stay at the hotel.
